Algebra 2 is a comprehensive course which expands on the fundamental skills learned in Algebra 1 and introduces topics of advanced algebra. These include, but are not limited to, the structure of the real number system with an extension into the complex number system, a careful study of mathematical functions (constant, linear, quadratic, polynomial, rational, logarithmic, exponential), a reinforcement of the connection between algebra and geometry through trigonometry, as well as, statistics. The development of critical thinking skills, the ability to articulate mathematical ideas, independent learning, and the importance of working with other students are fundamental principles in this class.
